HELLO im back to blog! i bet you all are shocked right, haha probably expecting me to update 2 months later. i shall try to update at least every week, in case this space gets too dead. so anyway, we had a picnic outing at ecp the other day. but i just realized that our picnic is very unpicnicy, cos we didnt have picnic mat and just settled for a space that wasnt occupied . ha anyway we had to bring our own food , and i brought my healthy home baked nuggets (as always), the rest brought normal picnicy stuff like sandwich and chips. we had alot of fun just sitting there talking, taking pictures and discussing about how japanese kids look more high class than singaporean kids.   our failed jump shot which ended up looking pretty cool haha  anyway look at zhou's tannlines and mine. hers is like this distinctively obvious slippers' tannlines. very funny lor  yes , so my dear zpgy went to teoheng after the picnic, whereas i went to meet jiaxin ting and cally for jiaxin's bday dinner.We had dinner at this place at shaw tower or something. food was alright, and after that we hung out at the j co. oh anyway there was this man who came to us and put this slip of paper on our table. we were pretty confused about what he wanted. then he started to grab jx's hand and knelt down, muttering some stuff which we couldnt really hear. so anyway, my point is, it was pretty scary. cos he just grabbed her hand like that. and he went on to do that to the following few tables. but i guess he was quite successful in getting money from them. haha. and i realized it has been ages since i last met jx . haha i find it very amusing that we only meet during big days like birthdays.(did we last meet on cally's bday?)haha and we were discussing about all the people we know from ahs, how they changed etc. i just love hanging with this bunch so much cos they are still the familiar people that i know years ago! i love you all!! (:    aw i think these pictures are so sweet. we rarely take photos like this right? this is LAM JIAXIN. the birthday girl ! she refused to let us take a decent picture of her. haha. and since tingting posted the prom picture, i shall do the same (:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIAXIN!! for those who dont know, beinnale is this art exhibition that Singapore has once every 2 years. OH YAR, DID YOU KNOW? biennale(pronounced bee-nale{as in finale}) means once every 2 years and is different from biannual which is twice a year. hahaha. come on, im sure you all didnt know this too right! haa. i was laughed at for not knowing this la. in general, i thought biennale was alright, not very spectacular. and i guess the blockage of the roads in preparation for the F1 race happening this weekend was a real killjoy. we literally had to go one whole big round to visit the other site which was at south beach development. but anyway we started the tour at the city hall. i shall try my best to recall the exhibits. ha
i remember this one! it was the first work that we saw. its this gigantic map of singapore , like the one they have on google earth that is laid on the entire floor of the room. we were given stickers that we could paste on our home/school/etc . i spent forever trying to locate eunos. haha i actly backtracked from zhou's house after she found hers. OH i've coveniently located the location of the eunos mrt station haha so if you're gonna be visiting biennale, you can go check it out . aha  this maggot looks cute by itself  but when the entire area is covered by it. whoa its pretty gross. but i guess it is kinda fascinating in its own way   and then there's this installation by this taiwanese artist. it was really cool cos the entire thing was like woven from wollen yarn. yes even that motor bike is made up of yarn. how cool is that i really like this painting which was at the stairway area . it is by this singaporean artist called jane lee. its actly painted with acrylic but it looked sooo much like fabric. so much texture. one of the more intriguing pieces in my opinion. i think i missed out on alot of other art works, and i totally dont rmb the sequence haha. so i shall just randomly talk about some of the other art works. this one is pretty cool, its a book made of leather, that floats in the middle of the tank. and with the help of the currents in the water , dances around really gracefully.  haha one of the photography artworks. look at the resemblance man. haha. anyway we did the mona lisa test. the woman's eye followed us nomatter where we went . so scary   this is probably one of our favourite cos it was soooo much work and sooo pretty! . they are actly tiny pieces of steel cut out in the shape of different plants. do you think he etched every single piece of the plants? cos if he did, it probably took really long. i think theres like thousands of those little things. and on one side its painted black, on the other, it has really nice colours. so when you walk around, you see the colour begin to change and its really like magic! super impressive! ya so, theres supposed over 60 art works, but i think i only covered like less than 10 or something .haha .aiya the rest is up to you all to go check out yourselves. ha so then, theres a second place that we had to head to, which is the south beach development. we took like an hour to walk over or smth. irritating F1 circuits.   thats them, trying to slide down from the humongous bridge beside esplanade. haha they look so cutewe were thirsty, tired, and perspiring like mad, so we didnt visit every single exhibit like we did at city hall. plus there were like soo many videos. i cant believe they expect us to be able to appreciate all the videos in stuffy and hot rooms  so anyway , this was the first installation that greeted us. a painting that played with optical illusion.  supposed to be this dancer .  upskirt! haha . ok not very funny this is an outdoor installation. those white stuff are actly all soap bars. so the entire area was really nice smelling .haha. i cant really rmb the rationale tho. this installation consists of all the chapalang everyday stuff. very interesting. theres like so much stuff like dolls, electrical appliances and all other funny funny things. it actly builds up to form a room. not bad right this idea. so interesting. but cannot anyhow pull things out from the wall, if not the room will collapse. and you die.  inside the room anyway we came across this room that reads "HAIR SALON". so we went into the room thinkin that its a fake hair salon installation kinda thing. and as usual, there were mirrors on the wall. (hair salon what! ). then just as we were about to leave the room, we made an amazing discovery. the mirrors are actly fake. so instead of a mirror, its a hole that shows us the room next door . and everything in that room is reflected in miirror image, so that it looks as if the mirror was there. aiya do you all understand? haha i dont know how to explain.but roughly get it la right? haha  see! no mirror! reflected clock also mirror image. haha cool right and even the rationale is reflected!!!yar then, we went to this room with strips of black paper all on the floor.    kodak moment. haha.
SO if youve yet to visit the biennale, you can still catch it before november something when it closes. if not you'll need to wait till next next year!! haha.
 we took a picture on the F1 circuit. i dont know why eric is acting cute.anyway we sat around marina bay and talked about life death marriage and religion. haha our conversations are gettting more substantial. as quoted from zhou's blog , "Despite being all nonsensical and stuff, I do realise that ZPGY has a lot of substance " . i really laughed like mad when i saw that haha. anyway our dear miss toh jia hui was very sad that she couldnt join us. so, for your sake.  HAHA see. you're floating.ok im ending this entry with a really unglam picture.  thats what happens when you get too bored durin the holidays. i dont dare to tell you all what we did. haha. byebye !
